he was merry's person to lean on and merry his. he brought an essence of young minded cuteness to it... something to keep you hoping that there was some good still alive.

to go home and never have the shire or his friends come by the way of danger.

i think he saw how muck stronger he was than boromir. but also that he could never find how good he really was because of his father.

lse says!

har har. this was a survey of a different colour, i could tell right away from one of the first answers which described pippin as a bit of an ass. good ol' pip.
magic difference answers i feel compelled to discuss:
faramir as a hero? awesome. i can't remember if anyone has listed him, though i think he'd be an obvious choice. most people put down boromir, gandalf or aragorn, sometimes merry.
you are more of a faramir fan though i take it? you were a bit harsh on old boro otherwise. not that i mind terribly, i'm not really a big fan of his, just makes me laugh. GO FARAMIR. really though, you are are the only person i have heard say pippin was scared of boromir at first. i adore the idea!
har, i really can't believe merry would have pissed off denethor anymore than pippin could have, merry and den-bo would have brooding angst contests.
of all your short answers this was my favourite: his innocence. himself. pippin on the journey lost his innocence, but gained himself. it's very poetic and so very true. very concise. nice.
whoa. andy-gollum hot? he always reminded me of the dirty freaky kid in health class who smelt weird. har har. i love andy serkis.
p.s. rock. on. celeborn.
p.p.s. i also love grima. check the outfit!
