yes he is. i love the pippeth.

how i see him? well i see pip as a noble yet fun loving hobbit.
what was your initial response to pippin's character?
awww! a hobbit!
what in his character do you like?
the way he balances his childlike qualities and heroic qualities.

his caring for others.

his curiosity can get the best of him.
to what degree did pippin's tookish nature play into his leaving the shire? was pippin searching for something when he left, or was it purely to help frodo?
tookish nature. hmm i like that. well i think that
even though pippin acts as though he left purely to help frodo,
or at the least go only because merry went. but i think deep down
inside pippin's 'tookish nature' desired freedom and adventure.
what purpose did pippin have with the fellowship?
he brought hope in the darkest times but at the same time he brought
curiosity that often got them into trouble.
what would have happened if he had been left behind? how would he be different? how would the others be different?
pippin would have been greatly depressed (as would
i) and he wouldn't have a chance to shine.
how does the grand adventure change pippin?
it lets him show that he can more than a
'fool of a took' when he wants to be.

i think he was unsure of himself only when he kept on getting in trouble.

i think gandalf is his hero in some odd way that i cant explain and faramir too.

they were friends since birth. but they
were inevitably brought closer together by the quest.

i don't think disappointed is the right word.
i think it's more like impatient. merry kept growing impatient of
pippin constantly messing things up but i don't think he was really
disappointed because merry knew that in a way pip couldn't help it.

i saw him as father figure to pippin
because he was constantly teaching him right from wrong.

yes. you finally found the right answer. pippin was offered sicily. if you look deep the appendices, you'll see not only was he offered the place, he accepted it and to this day sicily is considered a territory of tookland (more of a suburb really).

i think boromir represented a hero idol for pippin, not quite real, but like a superman to a young imaginative boy. i think his death grounded pippin and brought the horror of reality into his life.
