they were so totally close when they were younger. the journey simply brought them even closer than before.

not really. i think he felt more sorry toward pippin.

that he was a fool. he and pippin were close but not as close as say frodo/aragorn.

yes, because he thought at the time that some of pippin's mistakes were going to be everyone's last

it affected him greatly because boromir died defending pippin. which pippin feels is a very noble and heroic gesture.

he so moved pippin because he is the brother to boromir who saved his and merry's life... at the cost of his own.

i think it was purely sense of duty and pity... maybe a mixture of both.

was it appropriate pippin ended up serving denethor, not théoden? why?
no, because théoden was the greater man.

when pippin was confronted with death during the battle before the black gates, how do you feel he reacted?
he reacted as best as one might in the face of death.

how do you imagine pippin as a father?
i imagine him as a excellent father figure.

in the end, what do you feel pippin lost and what did he gain from his journey?
he lost his immature ways to a certain extent... he gained friends and a lifetime of knowledge.
