fan

it's becoming the world's largest phenomenon... the lotr fanbase.

mini-shrine for lord of the rings
in restless dreams i thought i walked alone... was there no one who dedicated the vast majority of their fanart efforts to pippin? but hark- there is a light. it shines too bright... i cannot see, but lo- no. it cannot be! an enormously talented fan artisté with a rabid lurve for pippin? oh, but yes, my worthy friend, it is true. sanna is great. her art is fab. i mean anyone who draws bug frodo and knows the meaning of "hubba hubba zoot zoot" is all right in my book.

lotr fan art yahoo group
i know, i know, you're thinking i don't like yahoo groups. well, normally i'd be with you on this, but not this time. we all know how i feel about conformity (rise against the tide of) but this place is all right. share your art, look at pretty pictureses, yeah. everyone there is really nice and there's always something great going on, like a contest or a chat event. check it out, life is good.

lotr fanart
hecksbeditey. since i was mentioning the lotr fanart group, might as well share their official page as well. this site houses art work which is and has been posted on the groups page. it also has information about the participating artists and their separate webpages.

fantasiarings
this is a personal site belonging to the very talented maki. maki's art is showcased here (as well as eip's fanart gallery) so, you notice, the page is in japanese. so, you think, i don't speak japanese. so, i say, it's not brain surgery. have fun poking around. there's a lot of good artwork there.

estel tolkien gallery
estel has a nice sizable gallery of tolkien works here. the way she illustrates the characters is very delicate and lovely. there's a nice one merry in rohan garb and of pippin, guard of the citadel.

lotr gallery
i love it when pippin fans are artists, because then suddenly there is actually pippin artwork out there. this place is wonderful. pippin with bandaged hands? aw. the whole site is s sweet and nice. you have to stop by and see for yourself.

anke eissmann's gallery
i do not even know how to go about beginning this little link write up. anke has the most amazing lord of the rings related watercolour illustrations. dark, quiet and akin to alan lee's; her work is just astounding, really. her artwork is based on her own lotr musings, rather than the film versions and it's wonderful to see someone too who loves faramir and túrin. this disjointed description does not do her work justice, you just have to see it all to believe it, go now, fly!

blossoms of the shire
hooray for orangeblossom's fan fiction. anyone who writes about faramir took, more over how i imagine faramir took to be, is well, god. i first found out about orangeblossom's work when she sent me a kind little email which included her link. i followed the url and discovered some of the sweetest little writings ever written up. i'm not a big fan fiction person at all really, so if i like her work, it must be special. great stuff, very sweet. i can't sing praises enough.
